When does school start/end?
When can my student enter the building?
Students are admitted to the building at 8:35 AM unless attending a morning activity.
What is the Early Release Schedule for & how often is it used?
The Early Release schedule is so staff throughout the district may attend PLC meetings. Early Release days are the first and third Wednesday of each month.
What should I do if my student is going to be absent?
Call the office first thing in the morning.
What should I do if my student is going to be late?
Call the office first thing in the morning. You will need to sign the student in when you drop them off.
What should I do if my student needs to leave early?
Have your student bring a note to the office in the morning. You will need to sign the student out when you pick them up.

How much do meals/items cost?
My child has special dietary needs, what should I do?
There are forms that need to be filled out depending on your student's needs. Visit the district Child Nutrition page for more information and for

When is breakfast?
We begin serving breakfast at 8:00 AM.
When is lunch?
When does the school need to know about visitors eating lunch?
The office needs to be notified of every vistor who will be eating lunch no later than 9:00 AM. Please note there may be
special procedures to follow for holiday lunches.
Transportation
What should my student do if they need to ride a different bus home?
Send a note to the student's teacher with the student's first and last names, your last name, and the teacher's name.
What if I'm picking up my student who normally rides the bus home?
Call the office as soon as possible to notify them of the change. Please remember that late afternoon changes are more difficult to make.
What should students do if they miss the bus home?
If a student misses the bus home they are to go to the office and ask the secretary to call a parent. They will then wait in the office to be picked up.

How will the school notify us of school closures?
In the event of schools closing due to bad weather the district will notify the local news stations. The school websites will also have notices
announcing the closures and an annoucement will be sent out via the District Emergency Notices eNotes.
What is the pupil/teacher ratio?
Kindergarten through 3rd grades are no larger than 20-1. 4th through 6th grades are no larger than 24-1.

What is the procedure for visiting my student's classroom?
Visitors are welcome anytime. If you would like to speak with a teacher, you may schedule an appointment ahead of time. Always sign in at the office
when you enter the building.
Why are the doors locked during the school day?
To help create a more secure learning environment, our doors are locked after school begins in the morning. There is a camera
and buzzer at the main entrance. In order to be admitted into the building, you must use the buzzer and identify yourself. The
secretaires will then release the lock, so you may enter.
Can I send flowers or balloons to my child at school?
Yes, but students are not allowed to carry some items on the bus. Therefore, you must come to pick up the item.
