The author of Treasure Island is Robert Louis Stevenson. He was born on November 13th, 1850, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Other than, Treasure Island, he wrote, Prince Otto, The Wrecker, and The Strange Case of  Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.  Besides novels, he also wrote poetry and short stories.  
For college, he went to The University of Edinburgh to study engineering. He was married to Fanny Osbourne whom he met when he was 26. Then, on December 13, 1894, he died of a stroke. He was 44 years old when he died.
